[edit] Using the software

RMBstore does not look like much at first, but you can quickly grow your website. The following is a list of common tasks that can be performed in no particular order:

[edit] Naming your Website

To name your website, click the "modify" link at the top of the site. This should allow you to fill in your website's name, and also your website's slogan, if you have one. When you are done, just click on the "Save" button.

[edit] Adding a Logo

If you have a logo you would like to use for your website, you can upload one by following these instructions:

  • Click on the "New Image" button at the top of the page.
  • Click on the "Modify" link that comes up there.
  • Click the "Browse" button. You will be able to select an image file from your computer to upload. Do so, and press "OK".
  • Fill in a caption for your image if you would like, then press "Save"

[edit] Modifying your website's front page

In the main body of the front page, you will see a link that says "modify". Click that link and a pretty straightforward form will come up for you to use to modify the front page. Click "Save" when you are done.

[edit] Creating a new page

New pages can be created using the "New Page" button, and can be edited exactly the same as the front page.

[edit] Creating your Store page

If you create a new Page and name it "Store", it will have the ability to create Store Products and Product Categories

[edit] Creating a Product Category

On your store page, you should be able to easily create a Product Category to place Products inside by simply pressing the "New Category" button. This will bring up a form where you can specify the category name and Description. Once you have created a category, you will be able to create products in that category. You can also create sub-categories.

[edit] Creating a Product

Any category that you have clicked on and are viewing full-screen will have a button to create a "New Product". Once you click the "New Product" button, you will be able to name your product and write a description of it. You will also be able to set the price and shipping cost of the product.

[edit] Adding images to the Product

Adding an image to a product is as easy as adding the logo to the main website. just click "New Image" and go from there.

[edit] Re-Arranging

You can Re-Arrange the order of just about anything on the website:

  • Images inside of Products
  • Products inside of Categories
  • Categories inside of Categories
  • Categories inside of Pages
  • Pages inside the Website

When you are faced with a list of objects, you should see an "arrange" link. This link will bring up a series of entry boxes near each sub-item. Into those boxes you can type whichever order you would like the items to be in, then press the "Re-Arrange" button to save the new order.

[edit] Copy and Paste

Almost any item can be copied into the clipboard at the bottom of the screen. Look for "-copy-" links near an object. You can copy Images and paste them into multiple Products. You can copy and paste Products or Entire Categories into other Categories.
